Awards

The Honors and Awards Committee reviews the accomplishments of VAGP, agencies, members or any person who has provided outstanding service to VAGP, or any VAGP members who have distinguished themselves in the areas of purchasing or materials management, involvement in Association activities, and promotion of professional development, not only for themselves but also for others.

At the Spring Conference, the Committee may award the annual VAGP Professional Manager of the Year and the VAGP Professional Buyer of the Year. At the Fall Conference, the Committee may award the T. Gordon Sandridge Lifetime Achievement Award, VAGP's most prestigious award, the Distinguished Service Award, Regular or Retired Life Membership Awards, the Volunteer of the Year Award, and the Leading Light Award.

Each year, VAGP also submits a Manager of the Year and Buyer of the Year nomination for consideration for the national awards from NIGP.
